2023 Web Calendar - Scotland Trip(s) Memory-Triggers

Hello!

I am a "Calendar Fan". I enjoy browsing/selecting photos that I have taken over the years and putting them into "Calendar" format that I print as the year moves along and place on my refrigerator door for use/enjoyment each day.

If you think you want a printable PDF of the following, let me know and I will put one together using larger-sized images.

January - 2023

Old Course #1 and #18 - Looking to the R&A Clubhouse and the Town from the Old Course 16th/17th fairway area. This photo was taken just one-minute prior to the photo used in the September 2023 Calendar (shown later in this Webpage).
Bot: St. Andrews Castle Ruins, with the St. Andrews Jubilee, New, etc. courses shown across the bay.

February - 2023

St. Andrews Castle Course #9 and #18 "Double"/Shared Green
Bot: Two happy players.

March - 2023

St. Andrews Castle Course #6 Green Area - Looking Back up the Hole on a wonderful, Foggy day.
Bot: Same view - on a Clear day.

April - 2023

St. Andrews Jubilee Course Looking Back to #7 from the 8th Tee.
Bot: Approaching the green at Jubilee #7.

May - 2023

St. Andrews New Course Par-3 13th. "Please Wait" until the 14th tee is clear. This is where, if we play just 9-holes on the New- if allowed - we would "cut over" from the New 3rd to the New 13th-thru-18th.
Bot: New Course's 13th up-hill green area. A fine Par-3!

June - 2023

St. Andrews Jubilee Course Par-3 17th Green and View to Town. Special - and Extra-special when played early-evening near sunset time.
Bot: Our 3-weeks-or-so location in-town.

July - 2023

St. Andrews Jubilee Course Par-5 #11 - Yes, there are a couple of trees on the Jubilee. This tee shot comes after playing the long-par 4 10th and that green's challenging second/third shots and, then, again-challenging putting area. The Jubilee 10th, to the right of the shown photo is located up a small hill from the shown 11th. Players of the two holes "often" end up sharing that hill playing-wise. Just one of the special locations on the Jubilee.
Bot: Passing by the tree on the Jubilee 11th fairway.

August - 2023

St. Andrews Castle Course Par-5 15th Tee.

One of the highest locations on the Castle Course. The spot's "special qualities" were pointed out to us the first "playing" round we took around the Castle in 2009. (A 2009 photo is clickable to the right). A Castle Course maintenance person met us, here, after we had just completed the wonderful Castle 14th. As we walked up to this spot on the 15th we enjoyed the view, together, with him and listened to his comments about the golf course. A nice memory.

The photo, below, was taken seven years later.

bot: The "end" of the Castle Par-5 15th..... I rarely have "hit this green" properly.... I often "miss" this shot. Oh, well. The view is wonderful and we are on vacation!

September - 2023

A photo (taken 1-minute after the photo used in this calendar's January month) showing some of the special ways the courses of St. Andrews share time/enjoyment-of with the Town.

October - 2023

Another wonderful spot on The Castle Course. This view (Castle Course par-3 8th) is enjoyed after playing the challenging 7th and is a welcome respite for the player. The clubhouse and the shared 9th/18th greens are viewed in the distance. The photo shows how the forward tee player is sometimes faced with different challenges than the regular-tee player.
Bot: Regular tees at the Castle 8th par-3.

November - 2023

The Eden Course at St. Andrews is a pleasure to play and (normally... in this crazy golf-game world) offers a quite-relaxing round of golf. The Old Course lies just over the shown stone wall. Once again, the Town views are often wonderful - especially when you play the Eden in the late-day sunshine.
Bot: Chipping, on the Eden 9th, showing the golf course in "all its glory".

December - 2023

This view is taken from the St. Andrews Links Trust Visitor Clubhouse and again shows how the Old Course and its golf course area is shared with the Town. This photo was taken on a Sunday when the Old Course (shown in the distance) is (normally) closed for golf playing and the town citizens/visitors roam the Old Course. The closer-viewed area is the "Ladies Putting Green" that can be used by non-members. The experience of playing on this putting green is special and memorable.
Bot: St. Andrews Town Coastline views; today and in the past. The Coastal Walk from St. Andrews up to the Castle Course and beyond is another memorable aspect of a day at St. Andrews.
